Divine Light
A downloadable Divine Light for Windows
A preacher from humble beginnings descends down a path of corruption and sin, leeching off of faith to further his own wealth. Consume God's light by any means necessary, even if that means sacrificing the flock to feed the starving wolf. Avoid the ever watchful eyes of the shepherds, for their gaze can subdue even the most wicked of beasts.
A game made for PizzaDoggy's Horror Jam #3! The theme being parasitism inspired me to take a more conceptual approach, that being the parasitism of greed and personal desire that sits within us all. Admittedly I did not initially set out to make something so religiously charged, but as the nature of design is iterative I just followed what seemed to be the most natural path and ended up with a final project I am very happy with.
This is my first time participating in a game jam, so any feedback is greatly appreciated!
Thank you to Gavin Davis for handling the sound design as well as the kickass menu music, and Leo Rickard for doing the writing. I couldn't have done it without you two, and may this game be worthy of the work you both graciously put into it.

For being made for a gamejam, this was not too shabby! Quite a solid little game. Quite fun and reminded of the early doom games. Made a video on it.
Thank you! It was my first time ever doing a jam so it makes me really happy to see the game continue to be enjoyed by others even after the jam ended! To answer the question about difficulty scaling, each time a warning popped up it would spawn another angel. As for their AI its dirt simple, as they just randomly roam in a radius centered on the player. I've definitely improved enemy scripting since then, but nonetheless I'm glad you enjoyed the game! :D
Well, this is awkward
XD
This was really good and unique. Love the setting, love the visuals. Keep up the good work, and thank you for sharing !! :)
A divine experience - one might say!
A unique approach to the horror theme. I really liked the overall look of the game and that sound was really unnerving - well done!
Best of luck with the future games!
